Divisions
Divisions let you organize transactions into flat business segments such as Online Sales or Consulting. Open Settings → Divisions to create, rename, hide, archive, restore, or remove them.
Manage divisions
Section titled “Manage divisions”Every division belongs to the active company. Creating or changing divisions requires Settings edit access. Eclipse keeps the General division as the system default and does not allow it to be archived or deleted.
When deleting another division, choose an active division from the same company for existing assignments. Historical rows stay attached when you archive instead of delete.
Bulk assignment verifies that every selected transaction and target division belongs to the active company. You can add tags, remove selected tags, replace the current set, or deliberately clear the set. If any selected record is unavailable in the active company, the whole request stops before changes begin.
Add assignment rules
Section titled “Add assignment rules”Open Settings → Divisions → Rules to route matching transactions to one or more active divisions. A rule can use a connected source, an expense category, bounded plain-text vendor wording, and a minimum or maximum amount. Its divisions and optional expense category must belong to the active company.
Current limit
Section titled “Current limit”Eclipse currently supports flat divisions. Class, location, and department variants—and reports that depend on those variants—are not available yet. Formal financial statements remain ledger-backed and should not be replaced by operational division totals.
